My Favorite Animal Kingdom restaurant

Over my most recent trip to Disney World this past December, my mom & I ate at a restaurant in Animal Kingdom for the first time – Yak & Yeti.  Not only is this restaurant beautifully themed, it also is right on the parade route AND has really yummy food!

I’m going back to Disney World in June, and I’m taking my husband to experience Yak & Yeti.  I’ve been dreaming about the Fried Wontons (the most amazing dessert) since December and am contemplating just ordering 2 of those instead of an entree.

A few pictures of the decor:

And some pictures of the food we ate:

Tempura Shrimp – chili plum sauce, coconut-ginger rice, stir fried vegetables $19.99

Stir-Fried Beef and Broccoli – flank steak, broccoli, brown sauce $18.99

Fried Wontons – Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle $7.99

Of the two entrees, the beef and broccoli was the clear favorite.  The tempura shrimp wasn’t very filling and the sauce that came with it was too sweet and sour for my taste.

And like I said, the Fried Wontons were the bomb.dot.com.  Order them and don’t be sorry.

If you want to see the parade while you’re eating, make sure to check parade schedules and make your reservation about 30 minutes ahead of time.  When checking in, request a window seat on the 2nd floor.

  1. I’ve eaten at Yak and Yeti once and loved it. We were on the dining plan and it was so much food that I could only take one bite of the wonton dessert. It was so yummy, I was nearly in tears for not having left room for it!

    • I totally understand! I love the dining plan, but end up never feeling hungry the whole time I’m in Disney World 🙂 You’ll have to go back for those wontons sometime – usually I’m a chocolate-or-nothing girl when it comes to dessert, but these are an exception.
